Etche-America Foundation set to give scholarships to Etche Students

A socio-political group in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State based in the United States of America (USA) has concluded plans to award scholarships to Etche students.

Speaking to our correspondent, the chairman of the scholarship scheme, Mr Samuel Nwankwoala, told TPCN that the decision for the scholarship “is aimed at curbing social vices and youths restiveness which has long kept our people in darkness and abject poverty”

The further also said the scheme is geared towards encouraging education in the local government area of the state thereby discouraging illiteracy and all forms of social vices that has for long plague the area.

On his part, the secretary of the scholarship scheme, Mr Azu-Asonye Onwudebe, stressed that the process will be transparent as it poised to bring out the best in the Etche Nation.

He, therefore, called on all eligible Students from Etche ethnic nationality to avail themselves the opportunity by applying and writing the exam scheduled to hold on 30th April 2019.
