The Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National, Magnus Abe, has said that voting the candidate of the African Action Congress was an attempt by the minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to single handedly produce a governor for Rivers State.

The Senator said that such will never happen.

He also described the March 9 gubernatorial election in Rivers State as a shame.

Speaking to our correspondent at Buguma during the burial of Late Chief Pa. MacDonald Harry, father of Hon. Ipalibo Harry, a chieftian of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abe maintained that the gubernatorial election was a total disgrace to the state and to Nigeria.

Speaking further, he frowned at the attitude of the minister of Transportation in trying to pick who governs the State.

He further said “No one Rivers man owns more or deserves more of Rivers State than another person, that was why I told my supporters and Rivers people not to vote the candidate of the AAC because it was an attempt by Rotimi Amaechi to single handedly pick a governor for Rivers people and he cannot. That is a decision all Rivers people have a right to participate in and we still stand on that point”
