Rivers state Peoples Democratic Party PDP has won additional 3 local government areas, making a total of 13 LGAs as the result collation is still ongoing at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, state collation centre Portharcourt.

The Local Government Areas include:

APC = 2564
Rejected votes 1306
Total valid votes 48634

DEGEMA LGA
PDP = 14083
APC = 7298
Rejected Vote 1170
Total vote cast 23209

AHOADA EAST
PDP= 10612
APC = 4693
Rejected votes 1190
Total vote cast 16812

Election and Collation of results did not hold in Ahoada West, Okrika and Ikwerre local government areas, as the Electoral Officers assigned to the areas complained before the state Collation Officer, Professor Aniefiok Essien, that the areas witnessed sporadic gunshots by men on military uniforms, snatching of ballot boxes and several other electoral violence that was not conducive for election.

The state Collation Officer also stepped down the presidential result of Emuoha local government area for the 3rd time, after so much argument and disagreement from various party agents and the refusal of the Returning Officer to acknowledge the result presented by the Collation Officer and Electoral Officer.

Professor Essien stepped down the Emouha result for the third time with reasons that it will be treated as special, stressing that all the parties have high interest in the matter.

Our correspondent Tina Amanda reports that the state collation centre will convene for continuation by 10am today.
