Killings: Ogbumnabali residents say they are under siege

Residents of Ogbunabali area have called on the government and relevant security agencies to help resolve the incessant killings going on the in the area.

This as gunmen shot dead a man at a drinking bar on Saturday.

The residents who spoke to theportcitynews said the cult-related killings in the area have reached an alarming level, stressing that they now live in fear as no one knows who is next.

According to a resident named John, “These killings are said to be cult-related. No Police are not assuring us the residents that they are on top of the matter. The other day, we heard that they killed yet another man in a bar. We don’t understand what is going on. There is fear everywhere”

Residents say when it seems like the killings have abated, the killers will kill yet again heightening their apprehension.

Another resident simply identified as Nwolu told our correspondent that a young man who installs Closed Circut Television, CCTV, was murdered last week.

According to her “The killing of that young man has cast doubts over the claims that it is a cult-related battle. He was too hardworking to have been involved in such. The police are not saying anything. They only come here to evacuate dead bodies. They need to put a stop to the killings” she said.

The Rivers State police command through it public relations officers, Nnamdi Omoni, declined to comment on the matter
