The newly deployed commissioner of police in Rivers state, Usman Alhasan Belel, has promised to be non-partisan in the discharge of his duties.

The new CP made the promise during the maiden press briefing in Port Harcourt on Friday.

CP Belel said, “Under my watch as the police boss in Rivera State, I will ensure that illegal arrests and detentions do not occur.

” I came to fight crime, and will make sure that crime and criminality will be reduced to the barest minimum”.

The new police boss also informed of the command’s commitment to carry out mop-up exercise in order to reduce the proliferation of illegal weapons in the state.

Details later.
