According to him “The Rivers State House of Assembly would reconvene to carry proper investigation as to what happened here, and you can be rest assured that in the coming days we will sit and we will review the situation.

“This thing happened yesterday, we need to properly investigate before we run into conclusions”

Amaewhule who described the collapse as unfortunate also said “this is an emergency situation, nobody planned for it, but the good thing is that the Rivers state government is here on ground and that work is being done.

“So we are here to monitor the situation. We will stay here for quite some time to see how far they would go with this and we will get in touch with other relevant agencies towards ensuring that more efforts are geared towards rescuing the persons that are trapped”

Amaewhule expressed hope that more persons would be rescued while calling on public spirited persons to expedite actions and assist in the rescue.
