Edo state has been declared the porn capital of Nigeria after data showed that the state has the highest porn search volume in the country.
According to researchers, porn search in Nigeria begins to rise at about 6 pm in the evening, reaches its peak at 1 am but begins to drop exponentially by 6 am.
According to the lead researcher, Tobechi Obinwanne, “we decided to help a certain organization with where to carry out their next outreach.
“First thing we did was to show them data showing the correlation between porn addiction and sexual promiscuity/addiction/perversion.
“The first image showed the graph of the search for porn in the last seven days. It reveals that the traffic begins to rise at about 6 pm daily and drops at about 6 am daily and reach a peak at 1.00 a.m daily.
“But the part that concerns us is that it shows that Edo State has the highest porn search volume and percentage per search.
“The second image shows the traffic graph for Edo State and the towns that account for this. A certain town, Akahia, caught my interest. I had never heard of it before. Why would it pop up? Is there a concentration of young people there or is there a school there?
“The third image shows the schools in Akahia. Then there is the proximity of Ujoelen Grammar School to the College of Medical Sciences, Ambrose Ali University.
“Well, we suggested Benin City to the organization for starts, and we recommended Akahia next.
Lastly, it was also noticed that in the first Picture, the top five states are almost representative of the 6 geopolitical regions”
