PDP Convention: Group calls for credible exercise

By Ugochukwu Iwuchukwu

A socio-political group, the National PDP Professionals and Business Group NPPBG have called on PDP delegates to elect a credible presidential candidate that will wrestle power from All Progressives Congress APC in 2019.

The group during a press briefing in Port Harcourt urged the delegates to consider credibility, competence, and track record and not ethnicity, religion and Godfatherism during the convention.

The National Coordinator of National PDP Professionals and Business Group NPPBG Dr Arome Salifu advised the delegates and major contenders not to see the exercise as a do or die affair.

”We call on all our highly respected delegates as they are about to carry out this enormous task before them to do it with all sense of diligence and patriotism knowing that to strengthen our democracy is in their hands, the future of Nigeria and indeed Nigerians are in their hands and to restore pride and glory of this great country is also in their hands” he said.

”NPPBG pray that they should consider credibility, competence, track record of our highly qualified presidential aspirants before them and do justice both to themselves and to the party at large” he stated.

The National Coordinator of NPPBG Dr. Arome Salifu also condemned the issue of vote buying which allegedly characterized the recently concluded Osun governorship election. He noted that the group will fight to end the menace of vote buying across the country.

The National PDP Professionals and Business Group NPPBG is a group within the PDP family that is made up of professionals in different walks of life both within and outside Nigeria.
