Ahoada Traditional Rulers between the border communities of Rivers and Bayelsa states have called on their leader to look into the security challenges some of the communities are facing.
Speaking at the inauguration of a 26-man Peace and Security Committee organised by the council boss to tackle cult-related killings, kidnapping and other crimes,HRH Moore Ugbuo, who represented the traditional rulers in the local government, said that peace is achievable.
He said : As the chairman had earlier stated, security is paramount and we will do everything in our reach to support him in order to ensure that relative peace is enjoyed in the whole of Ahoada.
In his reaction, the chairman, Hope Ikiriko said, In accordance with the law, peace would be achieved and the only way to be on top of security issues is to be proactive and not to wait till issues get out of hand before they can be taken up.
He further adds that since his tenure, security challenges have drastically reduced.
