Saraki asks Buhari to institute independent judicial panel of inquiry into NASS invasion

Following the siege on the National Assembly last Tuesday, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to institute an independent judicial panel of inquiry to look into the matter.

Saraki, via his verified Twitter handle made the call to the president exactly a week after what many have termed global embarrassment and a dent to the image of Nigeria’s growing democracy.

The very serious questions about last Tuesday’s siege on the National Assembly can only be answered through a thorough and neutral investigation. I call on Mr. President to immediately institute an independent judicial panel of inquiry to look into that assault on our democracy.
