A Rivers riverine advocacy group, the Mobilizers, has commenced a weekly prayer program to intercede for peaceful elections and the emergence of a riverine governorship candidate in Rivers State.
Several politicians from various ethnic groups converged for the spiritual exercise in Port Harcourt to collectively make their supplications to God.
President of the group, Gloria Boma Harry, encouraged all to support the quest for a riverine Governor in 2019, which according to her, would transform rural communities and create a sense of equity and fairness.
Mrs Charity Matthew who anchored the prayer prayed for God’s wisdom and protection upon leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the State and National levels, especially the leader of APC in Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who has expressed his desire for the emergence of a riverine candidate.
Some of the personalities at the prayer meeting include Temple Chukwuemeka, Anokwuru Chidi Arthur, Evangelist Elder Godwin Otuonye, Ruth Sampson, Mercy Godwin, Maureen Johnson, Golden Nnamdi Amadi, Chidi Anokwuru, amongst several others.
