Lulu-Briggs blasts Wike over road construction

Billionaire business mogul and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dumo Lulu Briggs has berated performance of the administration of Governor Nyesome Wike, declaring that it as a total failure on all fronts.

The politician who was a guest at a Leadership Forum organized by the Tool Masters club, at the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt frowned at the Government’s frenzy on road construction in the state.

According to him, the mere construction of roads and other ancillary infrastructures by the Government does is not the only measurable indices of development in a society.

Dumo insisted that investments in the human capital of the state are the only panacea that can move the state forward in terms of visible development, stressing that investments in viable skill acquisition projects that will enhance the status of the largely unemployed youths in the state will curtail the prevailing criminality in the state.

He noted that recent national statics placed Rivers State as harboring the largest number of the unemployed persons in the country, adding that no sane government will go about priding in constructing roads and other infrastructure when majority of the population in the state are without visible means of livelihood to enable them to contribute to the economy of the state.

He said pensioners in the state are not being paid their pensions while workers’ salaries take long to be paid with promotions in the civil services being stalled, yet the Government says it spends billions on unverifiable and unbudgeted projects.

“I am in politics to bring the needed change and as a professional who have made marks, we will add value to the lives of Rivers people”, the APC stalwart declared.

He said over the years his organization has continued to give succour to the underprivileged in the society through various acts of charity and also provided employment to all genders in the society.

Chief Briggs advised aspiring leaders to be ready to make genuine sacrifices and be committed in their fields of endeavor. He stressed that success in life is a product of hard work and resilience, emphasizing that his accomplishments in life did not come on the platter of gold but through personal determination to succeed.

He called on aspiring young leaders and businessmen to seek counsel and consult widely especially from experienced mentors whenever they face challenges, insisting that there are solutions in every life challenges.#
