Dr Friday Owumelu has been appointed the Chief Medical Director for Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital.
In a statement issued by the Rivers State Commissioner for health, Prof Princewill Chike confirmed the appointment of Dr Friday Owumelu, who until now was a former director of clinical services and training at BMSH.
He takes over from Dr P. Kua, who was previously suspended over the death of two babies at the health facility, an incident allegedly caused by an outage in the hospital, due to power failure caused by the hospital’s management.
