As the 2019 general elections draw closer, the plots and battles for the Etche / Omuma Federal Constituency is thickening with discordant tunes filling the political atmosphere as the PDP leaders in Etche LGA fight over who will get the party’s nomination.
It was gathered that Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi, the immediate past commissioner for Youth Empowerment / Employment has declared his intention to run for the Federal seat against Hon. Jerome Amadi Eke, who is the incumbent Member representing Etche / Omuma Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
TPCN gathered that the political atmosphere is rife with rumours that Chief Nwuzi has vowed to unseat Hon. Eke in the forthcoming party primaries, although the party has stated that there is no cause for alarm.
However, having produced thirteen out of the nineteen councillors, Hon. Nwuzi is poised to make due with his power in ensuring that he gets the nomination for the Federal seat come 2019.
In a swift reaction, Hon. Jerome told theportcitynews.com that no one can unseat him as he was instrumental in the installation of the council chairman of the LGA.
Furthermore, he added that he has encouraged his supporters to disregard claims by Chief Nwuzi, saying that he is only doing so to garner sympathy from the state governor.
