Rivers NSCDC dispel rumours of aiding bunkering.

The measures put in place to checkmate irregularities of pipeline sabotage have drastically reduced the activities of illegal refiners in the state.

Commandant of Nigerian security and civil defence Corps, Rivers state command, Mohammed Lawal, disclosed this while fielding questions from TPCN correspondent Tina Amanda.

He said the measures include taking the fight into the creeks and the stop and check method which he stressed has contributed in curbing the inflow of illegally refined petroleum products.

Public Relation Officer of the Command, Oguntuase Micheal who spoke on behalf of the commandant dispelled the rumour that its men are taking part in the illegal activities.

He urged the public to alert the command with intelligent reports that will enhance the arrest of hoodlums who dislodge people of their valuables in some flashpoints in the state.

He further appealed to the public to avail themselves the opportunity of bringing their civil cases to the peace and conflict resolution unit in the command to have their cases settled.
