The Federal Road Safety Corps, Rivers State command, has expressed its readiness to decongest traffic in the state highways during this year’s Eid-El Fitr celebration of Muslim faithful.
The State Sector Head of Operations, Ahmed Hassan, said his Command will go tough on motorists who engage in overloading during the Islamic festive period.
He maintained that his Command will clampdown on motorists who have no driver’s license, fake number plate, and those with tyre violations including vehicles that do not have the Limited Speed Device.
Hassan, therefore, appealed to the motoring public to obey lane rules and desist from overtaking unnecessarily.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government had declared Friday, 15 and Monday 18 of June 2018 as public holidays in commemoration of this year’s Eid-El Fitr
