3 Years After , 13,000 Teachers Decry Non-Completion Of Arrears Payment.

Some of the 13,000 teachers recruited under the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s regime have decried the non-completion of their arrears payment for more than two years.

TPCN gathered that the teachers were last paid their over seven months arrears in December 2016 by the Nyesom Wike’s administration, adding that since then, the State government has paid deaf ears to their plights.

Speaking to our correspondent, some teachers claimed that some local governments have been fully paid while others like Emuoha, Omuma, Gokana and Etche etc are yet to get their complete salary arrears since 2014.

It would be recalled that the teachers were recruited over five years ago. However, despite the statutory mandatory conditions of working for three years before been confirmed, the teachers are yet to be confirmed.
