Workers trapped in Niger Delta rig fire evacuated.

A total of 28 oil workers trapped on a Niger Delta rig that caught fire Saturday have been evacuated.

At least 100 workers were rescued from the Majestic platform at a block operated by Conoil in Bayelsa state, but 28 remained trapped on board.

The blaze started early on Saturday, and firefighters were flown to the area to bring it under control. The Joint Military Task Force in the Niger Delta stated that all personnel had been evacuated.
