APC is against the Neighborhood Watch Law because they want to rig election – Wike

Owing to the raging controversy over the new Neighborhood Watch Law, the Rivers State Governor, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has stated that the All Progressive Congress, APC’s challenge of the bill is because they are planning to rig elections in the state come 2019.

Governor Wike also accused the Federal Government of abandoning the state, saying that FG changed Commissioners of Police in the state up to 8 times while crime was increasing in the state.

The Governor who spoke during a visitation by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, charged those who are against the Neighborhood Watch Law to seek redress in court of competent jurisdiction.

Wike, charged CAN to pray against any INEC personnel who would want to rig elections in 2019, that God should take such a person down before he/she comes.

He maintained that INEC is full of lies and berated the commission for nominating a special assistant to the President whom he said will be biased in the discharge of his duties.

Governor Wike also accused young people who he said have allowed themselves to be used to propagate fake news, lies on social media saying that they’re are using the social media the wrong way.

He said :

“They want to politicize the bill. The Law has come to stay. If they don’t like it, they should challenge it in court.
All they’re planning is to rig election nothing else. We must get it right this time.

” Some people are asking why did the House Of Assembly pass the bill? I only accented to it and they say I must be punished for doing my job. Where did Rivers State go wrong?

” We only adopted Lagos state Neighbourhood watch which the Federal government never said anything against. I replicated it in Rivers State for them to work in synergy with security agencies to provide intelligent information.

” Federal Government changed our Commissioner of Police up to 8 times, I cried to FG to support us but they refused. Today Nigeria is in trouble. Killing everywhere because they did not support us. God has come to help Rivers State.

” Neighbourhood watch was started by Lagos State Government, crime was on the high in Rivers State, I did everything to support security agencies.

“We belong to different churches but we must tell our people to register for their Pvc. We must ensure Rivers State continue to be a Christian state. We have a role to play.
The only religion I know is Christianity and I will do everything to promote it.

” Rivers State has been persecuted but we have always triumph and we will always overcome.
No amount of blackmail will make me not to believe in God. I will not worship any man.
