RIWAMA Reschedules waste disposal time for General public

The Rivers State waste management agency has rescheduled the waste disposal hours for members public.

The Sole administrator of the agency, Felix Obua who announced this shortly after an unscheduled monitoring of major roads and streets in Port Harcourt said that the dumping time will now be from 6pm to 12am midnight.

Obua said the adjustments became necessary, to accommodate traders and shop owners, who close their shops by 6pm to enable them dispose of their waste before going home for the day.

The RIWAMA Boss also announced the setting up of a special task force, to arrest and prosecute anyone found dumping refuse at unauthorized places and outside the new refuse disposal hours, of 6pm to 12 midnight.
