Rivers State Government to begin immunization

Rivers State Ministry of health will on the 1st of march, begin another round of immunization program.

This was made known to TPCN during an exclusive chat with officials of the Ministry.

The ministry also reassured residents and visitors in the state that there is no cause for alarm over the incidence of lassa fever in Ebonyi State as the state is prepared to mitigate any outbreak.

The Commissioner for health, Professor Chike Princewill, said that the state has assembled a rapid response disease center at Emuoha and placed trained medical personnel at high alert.

He equally said that the state have provided personnel with Personal Protective Equipments as care givers are always at risk of coming in contact with diseased patients.

Professor Chike also said that the ministry has employed education officers to sensitize the general public on ways to protect themselves against possible infection.
