Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his dependence on God as the source of strength, wisdom, inspiration, and direction for his administration. Speaking at the 7th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the Government House Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Governor Fubara emphasized the integral role of the church in his government’s quest to sustain good governance for all residents in the state.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr. Augustine Ndudi Chukwuma, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to God for being an abiding helper and to the church for their fervent prayers and godly counsels, which have contributed significantly to the peace-building efforts in the state.

In a statement issued by the Government House Press Unit, Governor Fubara acknowledged the mutual need between the church and his administration, stating, “He knows that the church needs him, and he needs the church.” To demonstrate his commitment, Governor Fubara announced a donation of N10 million to support the church.

It is worth noting that in his sermon, Chaplain of the Government House Chapel, Pastor Ogan Barasin, emphasized God’s continued involvement in saving souls and preserving them for Himself. He encouraged the congregation to surrender their lives to Jesus and acknowledge Him as their Savior.
