The electric atmosphere of matchdays will soon be back, with the sounds of drums, trumpets, and chanting fans creating an unforgettable experience.

Rivers United, proudly known as the Pride of Rivers, has embraced a unique approach to prepare for the upcoming Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season. In a heartwarming display of faith and gratitude, the entire contingent of staff and players from the Port Harcourt-based club visited the Salvation Ministries Home of Success to seek divine guidance and blessings for the 2024/2025 season.

This spiritual sojourn was a deliberate move to commit the team’s journey into the hands of the Almighty, acknowledging the higher power’s influence in their endeavors. The visit also served as an opportunity for the team to express their heartfelt appreciation for God’s benevolence and favor upon the club and Rivers State as a whole.

By seeking spiritual fortification, Rivers United has demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of faith and divine providence in their pursuit of success. As they embark on this new season, they carry with them the belief that their hard work and dedication will be augmented by a higher power, driving them towards excellence and triumph in the NPFL.

The entourage of Rivers United, led by Coach Finidi George, comprised a diverse group of key stakeholders, including players, coaching staff, and members of the supporters club. They converged at the Salvation Ministries Home of Success, where they were warmly received by the Senior Pastor, Pastor David Ibiyeomie. In a heartfelt and inspiring address, Pastor Ibiyeomie emphasized the significance of acknowledging the divine element in their careers, stressing that sheer strength and talent alone are insufficient to guarantee success.

He urged the players and coaching staff to recognize and embrace the guiding hand of God in their endeavors, as it is through His blessings and guidance that they can achieve their aspirations. Pastor Ibiyeomie also highlighted the importance of gratitude, assuring the team that by expressing thanks and praise to God, He will elevate them to the pinnacle of Nigerian football.

The gathering culminated in a powerful prayer session, led by the Senior Pastor, who invoked divine blessings and protection upon the team. As the squad departed, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose, faith, and determination, ready to face the challenges of the upcoming season with confidence and spiritual fortification.
