Tinubu Gets Solidarity Boost as Okocha Leads Mega Rally in Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt – In a show of unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, a mega solidarity march is currently underway in Port Harcourt, led by Tony Okocha, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This comes on the heels of Okocha’s recent removal as the Rivers State chairman of the party by the Rivers State High Court.

The court had reinstated Emeka Beke as the legitimate chairman of the party, nullified the appointment of Okocha’s caretaker committee members, and restrained them from parading themselves as exco members of the APC in the state. Okocha has vowed to appeal the judgment, claiming bias and compromise by the judge.

Undeterred by the court’s ruling, Okocha led members of the Renewed Hope Family of Rivers State, a group he heads, in a solidarity march for President Tinubu. The march, which began at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, is progressing down Aba Road, causing significant traffic congestion due to the large number of participants.

The march is seen as a testament to the enduring popularity of President Tinubu among his supporters in Rivers State, despite the recent drama surrounding the state’s APC leadership.

It bears mentioning that Okocha’s determination to lead the march, despite his removal as chairman, underscores his commitment to President Tinubu and the APC. However, the legality of his position remains contested, and the outcome of his appeal will be closely watched.

TPCN will be providing further updates as the situation unfolds.
