Nigerian Striker Osimhen Demands £500,000 Weekly to Join Chelsea Squad

The Chelsea-Victor Osimhen saga has taken a dramatic turn. The Super Eagles forward’s eye-watering wage demands have thrown a spanner in the works, leaving the Blues’ summer signing plans in disarray.

According to reports, Osimhen is seeking a staggering £500,000-a-week contract, a figure that would catapult him to the top of the Premier League’s highest-paid players list. The 25-year-old’s audacious ask has left Chelsea reeling, with negotiations stalled and no clear resolution in sight.

Despite weeks of talks with Napoli and Osimhen’s representatives, the London club remains at an impasse. Their initial loan proposal, which would have avoided triggering Osimhen’s £110 million release clause, was met with a firm rejection from the Italian side.

However, Napoli has since softened their stance, reducing their asking price to a more palatable £85 million. The sticking point remains Osimhen’s wages, which Chelsea is desperate to negotiate down.

The Nigerian striker’s determination to leave Napoli this summer is unwavering, with a formal transfer request already on the table. Paris Saint-Germain has also shown interest but has temporarily cooled their pursuit.

Chelsea’s long-term admiration for Osimhen drives their determination to secure the deal. To accommodate his demands, the club has been working overtime to trim their wage bill, a delicate balancing act that will require creative maneuvering.

Will Chelsea find a way to meet Osimhen’s sky-high expectations, or will their pursuit of the prolific forward end in disappointment? Only time will tell.
