Renowned Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson has vehemently denied allegations of an affair with Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The claims, originating from a blog on social media, suggested that Egbuson, alongside other celebrities, was romantically involved with Akpabio, using their professional careers to disguise the source of their income. Egbuson responded strongly, labeling the accusations as false and damaging.
The controversy erupted when Egbuson was included in a list of women allegedly linked to Akpabio, which also named actresses Nancy Isime, Ini Edo, hair Vendor, Wanneka, and chef Hilda Baci, among others.
Egbuson took to her official Instagram page to address the allegations, emphasizing her commitment to clearing her name. “I saw text messages and calls this morning alerting me to a very wicked lie from the pit of hell. I must say that I’m very disappointed, shocked, and appalled,” she wrote.
“I have never ever met the Senate president in my life. I have not had any cause to be in the same room with him, not to talk of being his side chick. I’m happily married with two beautiful children.”
The actress expressed her readiness to take legal action, stating, “I am ready for any legal action because, at this point, you have messed with the wrong person. I keep to myself, mind my business, drink water, and do my work. So for someone to want to tarnish my hard-earned name and image for some clicks, no way. I’m not going to accept it or be quiet about it.”
Egbuson even offered a reward for proof of the allegations. “Anyone who can provide video or audio evidence that I have been with this man, I would give you N5 million right now,” she challenged.
On the same train, fellow Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has reacted calmly, without direct response, to the claims that she was one of the Senate President’s side chics. Following the alleged rumor on social media, unbothered Ini Edo, took to Instagram to share some photos of herself, with the caption:
“Maintaining steeze and composure and summering at the same time.”
