The Abundance Grace Outreach Project has provided school materials and other support items to about 600 pupils in Rivers State as part of its annual festive outreach programme.
The distribution took place on Monday in Okrika, where the project’s founder, Mrs Olubukola Ilevbare, presented the items to children and their parents to ease the burden on families ahead of the new school term in January.

Materials distributed included school bags, footwear, clothing, Bibles, food items, cartons of noodles and party packs. In addition, five pupils were awarded scholarships, with each beneficiary receiving ₦100,000 to support their education.
Speaking at the event, Ilevbare said the outreach was driven by the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian service and supporting less privileged children. She noted that since its inception in 2016, the initiative has reached thousands of children and families across different communities.
She explained that the programme, now in its ninth edition, aims to spread joy and restore hope, especially during the festive season when many children are excluded from celebrations due to poverty.
“Christmas represents love, compassion and shared humanity. Our goal is to let these children know they are loved and remembered,” she said.
Ilevbare also thanked partners, volunteers and donors for their support, assuring that the organisation would sustain the initiative to reach more beneficiaries in 2026.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Love Christ, expressed gratitude after her two children received scholarships, describing the support as timely relief amid economic hardship.
