Gospel Singer Ties The Knot in Port Harcourt

Popular Port Harcourt gospel singer Stephen Omubo has officially tied the knot, stirring excitement among fans, friends, and members of the gospel music community in the city.

The wedding ceremony, which took place in Port Harcourt, attracted congratulatory messages online after the singer shared heartfelt reflections about his journey to marriage.

In a post on his official page, Omubo celebrated his bride while recounting the challenges they had faced together before their big day. According to him, their relationship had weathered difficult seasons long before the glamour of the wedding celebration.

“We’ve gone through storms together. Before the glamour, we’ve cried together. Your heart holds beauty as much as the smile on your pretty face,” he wrote.

The gospel singer expressed gratitude to God for guiding their relationship to the altar, adding that divine mercy and the help of the Holy Spirit made their union possible. He also described his bride as his peace of mind.

According to him, when he first mentioned his plans to a friend, the response was filled with doubt. The friend reportedly questioned how he intended to fund a wedding, especially since he had only recently started working and was known for having big plans.

Rather than being discouraged, Omubo said he simply laughed and insisted that things would work out.

He recalled how his late mother once described his bold steps as “carelessness,” especially when he made a promise to God about serving in the church before pursuing his education.

The singer admitted that many people around him doubted it would happen so soon. He estimated that nearly 60 percent of those around him believed the plan was unrealistic.

Even some colleagues reportedly questioned his seriousness about getting married, teasing that he seemed too relaxed about the preparations. But for Omubo, the journey was guided by faith.

The gospel singer concluded by highlighting what he believes are the three pillars that have shaped his life: strong convictions, faith in God, and building meaningful relationships with people who are more experienced and influential.

According to him, these three elements can achieve what money alone cannot.
