Edison Refutes Campaign Posters, Reiterates Support for Fubara

Former Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Rt. Hon Edison Ehie has described the political campaign posters on social media platforms as false and mischievous.

In a statement on Saturday March 28, Rt. Hon. Ehie said the desperate poster circulating in public space, falsely suggesting that he is aligned with an agenda to free Rivers from the hands of one man under a proposed 2027 ticket on the platform of the African Democratic Congress is a calculated act of political propaganda designed to mislead the public and sow discord.

While reiterating his firm loyalty for Governor Fubara, the former Chief of Staff said he remains a committed and loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stands firmly with the Fubara Administration.

Rt. Hon. Ehie said he is ready to make the needed sacrifice in support of the Governor’s decision for peace to thrive and for the development of the state.

“The peace is worth it, so any attempt to portray me otherwise is a blatant distortion of facts and a reflection of the desperation of those who have lost political relevance and public trust.”

“The inclusion of my name alongside that on the said poster is entirely unauthorized and misleading, and should be disregarded by all discerning citizens. I have neither endorsed nor consented to any such political arrangement, and any claim to the contrary is nothing short of political fraud.”

The former Chief of Staff to Governor Fubara while noting that the State was not in need of rescue from imaginary enemies explained that the state is currently experiencing purposeful leadership, strategic governance, and unity of purpose.

According to him, “the era of manipulation through false narratives is over and the sponsors of this falsehood must understand that Rivers people are politically aware and cannot be swayed by cheap propaganda.”

He urged the public to ignore baseless posters from faceless individuals as he remained focused on the collective progress of Rivers State.
