WoPU Backs Tinubu’s Reform Agenda Ahead of 2027

Working People United (WoPU) has expressed strong confidence in the leadership and reform policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The group made its position known on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Leading the delegation, the National Coordinator General of WoPU, Comrade (Prince) Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, reiterated the group’s unwavering support for the current administration, describing WoPU as a national grassroots movement committed to promoting unity, productivity, and the welfare of workers across various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

He said the movement’s core objective is to amplify the voices of ordinary Nigerians, encourage civic participation, and advocate policies that promote fairness, economic opportunity, and sustainable national development.

Akporeha noted that WoPU believes Nigeria is on the right path under President Tinubu’s leadership, citing ongoing reforms across key sectors as evidence of a commitment to economic stability and long-term growth.

The group also highlighted its role as a bridge between citizens and government, pledging to continue advocating policies that improve the welfare, dignity, and economic prospects of working Nigerians, while promoting civic responsibility, especially among youths.

He further stressed that inclusive governance, where the voices of everyday Nigerians are heard, is essential for strengthening democracy, building public trust, and accelerating national development.

In his response, Gbajabiamila commended WoPU for its constructive engagement and acknowledged the group’s recognition of the administration’s reform efforts.

He observed that organisations of its nature are often inclined toward confrontation with government authorities, but praised WoPU for adopting a collaborative approach and contributing positively to national development.

Looking ahead to 2027, WoPU reaffirmed its resolve to mobilise grassroots support for the continuation of the current administration’s policies, expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda will deliver lasting benefits for Nigerians.

The group noted that its structure spans the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, 774 local government areas, and 8,809 wards, positioning it to galvanise nationwide support for unity and development.

WoPU also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Staff for the engagement, reiterating its commitment to working with government institutions to build a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
