Fubara Assures Completion of Abua–Emohua Road in May

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara says the 14.5-kilometre road linking Abua to Port Harcourt via Emohua will be completed by May 2026.

Governor Fubara who gave the assurance after inspecting the project and receiving updates from the contractors handling the road construction expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded on the project, particularly the completion of the 240-metre Agba-Ndele bridge, which links the Abua and Emohua sections of the road.

He said the contractors have assured the state government that the Emohua section of the road will be completed by May this year.

The Governor noted that the completion of the road will significantly improve access for residents of the affected communities who have for years struggled with poor road connectivity.

The project which connects several communities including Ndele, Omofo, Egamini and Agba-Ndele in Emohua Local Government Area, as well as communities in Abua/Odual Local Government Area had been abandoned for years spanning the administrations of former governors Chibuike Amaechi and Chief Nyesom Wike.

Governor Fubara who was accompanied on the inspection by the newly appointed Commissioner for Works, Professor Temple Nwofor; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Austine Ezekiel-Hart; and the member representing Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Boniface Emerengwa also thanked the people of the area for the support given to his administration.
