The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables.
According to a statement issued by the Rivers State Police Command, and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, the screening exercise will take place from March 9 to April 18, 2026, in Rivers State.
The police advised candidates who completed the online recruitment registration to visit the official recruitment portal to check their application status and print the required documents ahead of the screening.
Applicants are expected to present several documents at the screening venue, including their invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number (NIN) printout or National Identity Card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of local government area or state of origin.
Specialist applicants are also required to present relevant trade test certificates, while all candidates must submit duly completed guarantor forms with photocopies of their referees’ valid identification and attached passport photographs.
The screening exercise will hold at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre.
Applicants are expected to appear at the venue dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, and white shorts, and must come with original and duplicate copies of their credentials packaged in two separate white flat files, each bearing recent passport photographs.
The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Olugbenga Adepoju, wished shortlisted applicants success in the screening exercise and assured the public that recruitment would strictly follow statutory entry requirements as provided in the Police Act and regulations.
He also urged candidates to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and avoid actions capable of disrupting the process, noting that the recruitment exercise is free of charge.
