Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has congratulated the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ukalikpe Napoleon and Hon. Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, for their victory in last Saturday’s bye -election which held in two constituencies in the state.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Onwuka Nzeshi on Tuesday 24th February 2026, Sir Fubara described the victory of the two candidates of the APC in the election as “well deserved given their popularity in their respective constituencies.”
The governor said: ” It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes. I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the State House of Assembly.”
He applauded the people of the two constituencies for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves, before during and after the elections.
News: Akuku-Toru APC Unanimously Elects National Delegates
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had conducted the by-elections last Saturday to fill two vacancies in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
While Ukalikpe won the Ahoada East State Constituency, Loolo won Khana State Constitueny II seat.
Announcing the Rivers State by-election results, the Returning Officer, Prof Rosemary Ogbo, said in Ahoada East State Constituency 2, the candidate of the Action Alliance, Ego Marvelous, polled 33 votes; Ukalikpe of the APC secured 3,980 votes; while Godstime Egor of the Action Party of Nigeria scored 38 votes.
According to her, Oseja Clifford of Boot Party garnered 11 votes; Ephraim Raphael Ede of the New Nigeria Peoples Party polled seven votes; Ogide Samson Greatman of the Young Progressives Party also secured seven votes; while Kwodu Saturday Prosper of the Zenith Labour Party received six votes.
For Khana Constituency 2, Loloo was declared winner with a total vote of 7,647 to defeat candidates of the African Alliance, New Nigerian Peoples Party, Young Peoples Party and Zenith Labour Party.
