An AI governance strategist from Nigeria, Mr Celestine Achi, has introduced the Engineering of Trust framework to tackle accountability issues as AI becomes more prevalent in public relations, corporate affairs, and government communication systems.
He noted that the profession is confronted with a governance gap, and the framework provides a governance architecture that can be measured, audited, and defended. “AI adoption has accelerated across institutions,” Achi remarked. “However, governance mechanisms tailored to AI in communications have not evolved at the same rate.
This gap results in reputational and regulatory risks.”The initiative features a guide titled AI-Powered PR Playbook: Engineering Trust in the Age of AI, along with an assessment tool designed to assist institutions in evaluating their readiness, governance vulnerabilities, and exposure within their structures.

The framework establishes guidelines for AI messaging, mandates verification checkpoints prior to release, defines a Trust Failure Taxonomy to monitor system failures, and implements a Trust Scorecard with a seven-day roadmap for governance integration. “The next evolution of public relations will not be automation. It will be accountable automation,” he emphasized.
Achi has suggested engaging in dialogue with professional organizations and institutional stakeholders to discuss the creation of governance standards within the communications sector. The playbook is available for free download, and the assessment tool can be found on his official website, AI-Powered PR.
The launch represents a transformation in how institutions manage AI usage in messaging and places accountability at the forefront of communication practices. Observers believe that the framework could influence policy discussions and provide guidance for oversight across various sectors as global adoption continues to increase.
