Nigerian Army troops have dismantled an illegal crude oil refining facility in Rivers State, as part of synchronized operations that also resulted in the rescue of kidnapped individuals, the capture of criminal suspects, and the interruption of unlawful activities nationwide in the past 24 hours.
A dependable military source informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday that the soldiers removed ovens, tanks, and pipelines utilized for illicit refining and economic sabotage within the state.
The source reported that in the North-West, forces engaged in Operation FANSAN YAMMA saved four abducted individuals during a combat patrol in the Yarsenta region. Initial inquiries indicated that the victims were taken on January 26 from Makera Village in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State and were subsequently discovered roaming in the forest prior to being safely retrieved.

According to the source, troops have maintained vigorous, intelligence-led patrols throughout Zamfara State, restricting bandits’ mobility and comforting residents with an ongoing military presence. During Operation MESA, forces in Kogi State apprehended a surrendered bandit associated with infamous criminal groups, seizing a locally made gun and a cellphone.
In the South-South region, personnel from the Joint Task Force apprehended a suspected imposter trying to gain unauthorized entry to a military facility, thus preventing a possible security violation. The source noted that soldiers, working with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), apprehended four alleged drug dealers in Delta State, seizing amounts of cannabis and other illicit drugs.
