FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says Tinubu’s supporters in Rivers State don’t need Governor Fubara’s help for 2027 elections. Wike spoke at the launch of Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ HQ in Port Harcourt Saturday.
Wike said Rivers has a strong political structure that can deliver votes for Tinubu without relying on Governor Fubara or the state government.
“We don’t need to have a governor to mobilise for Mr President,” Wike said. “We don’t need it. We have all it takes to be on our own.”
He described Rivers as politically sealed for Tinubu, declaring the state a “no-go area” for opposition forces ahead of 2027.

“Our commitment is not by mouth or by newspaper headlines,” Wike said. “It is by action. Anybody who wants to learn how to work for a president should come to Rivers State.”
Wike highlighted the diverse pro-Tinubu coalition in Rivers, including lawmakers, party leaders, and officials from APC and PDP. He said genuine support comes from sacrifice and mobilisation, not financial incentives or direction.
“If you say you are supporting someone, that person does not need to bring resources,” Wike said. “You must show commitment. That is what we have done.”
