Rivers Women Seek Divine Guidance

Women in Rivers State have called on residents to continually seek God as the ultimate source of peace, stability, and sustainable development, declaring that divine intervention remains key to the progress of the state.

The call was made on Thursday, January 29, 2026, during a mega praise, thanksgiving, and prayer session organised by Rivers women, which they described as the opening of a “fresh dawn” for the state in 2026.

The women stressed that women play a critical role in societal transformation, remaining central to the moral, social, and economic development of Rivers State. Participants were urged to intensify prayers while also contributing meaningfully to family stability, community growth, and economic advancement.

Speaking at the event themed “Ebenezer: Our Hope and Help,” Pastor Eno Jerry Eze declared that Rivers State would experience abundance through divine intervention. She encouraged women not to be silent in the face of challenges but to remain steadfast in faith, noting that God remains a constant source of hope and help.

Pastor Eze described the prayer gathering as a “womb opener” for the year, commending the organisers for their foresight and expressing confidence that the prayers offered would positively impact the state.

Also speaking, Apostle Opuaya Biminiayefie Agha declared that every foundational challenge confronting Rivers State had been broken, paving the way for progress and development. She called on women across the state to rise in unity and sustained prayer, while commending Amaopuorubo Sotonye Toby Fulton for convening the event, describing her as a compassionate leader with a large heart.

In her remarks, a former Commissioner for Environment, Prof. Roseline Konya, said the prayer session was aimed at committing Rivers State into God’s hands at the beginning of the year. She urged residents to embrace peace as a catalyst for development across all sectors, assuring that women would continue to pray for lasting peace and positive change in the state.

The event climaxed with the cutting of a cake to mark the birthday of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, symbolising unity, hope, and the declaration of a fresh dawn for Rivers State.
