Governor Fubara Promises Accelerated Development for Ahoada West

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to accelerating development across all local government areas, with a specific focus highlighted for Ahoada West LGA.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Joinkrama, the Governor outlined plans for robust infrastructure projects, improved healthcare facilities, and enhanced educational opportunities tailored to the needs of the rural communities. He emphasized that these initiatives are designed to foster inclusive growth and empower
residents, ensuring that no community is left behind in the state’s progress.

“We are tired of mere promises; we need concrete action. I hope this commitment translates into visible projects soon,” expressed Mr. Godwin Eze, a youth leader from Joinkrama, reflecting the community’s cautious optimism.

The Governor urged community leaders and residents to take ownership of government projects, stressing that their active participation and vigilance against vandalism are crucial for the sustainability of these developments. He also called for greater synergy between local governance structures and state agencies to ensure efficient project delivery and maintenance.

Mrs. Helen Dike, a market woman, shared her perspective, saying, “Our roads are a major challenge for bringing goods to the market. If the Governor fixes them, it will boost our businesses significantly.” This sentiment was echoed by Chief Okorocha Wike, a community elder, who added, “Development means peace and progress for our children. We will support any leader who brings positive change.”

The administration is expected to commence a series of needs assessment tours in the coming weeks to finalize specific project implementations based on direct community input, ensuring that the development agenda is truly reflective of local priorities.
