Mr Chijioke Ihunwo, a prominent member of the Fubara Group, has publicly restated his unwavering loyalty to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, dismissing as baseless recent claims that he was considering a political realignment.
Speaking through a public notice issued on Saturday, Ihunwo said he was compelled to address what he described as a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and stir political tension within the state.
According to him, reports suggesting that he intended to resign from the Fubara Group and pitch his tent with former governor Nyesom Wike were entirely false.

He said at no point had he contemplated leaving the group or engaging in any form of discussion with the individuals mentioned in the publication, stressing that his political position remained clear and unchanged.
Ihunwo reaffirmed his confidence in Governor Fubara’s leadership, noting that his continued support was rooted in the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stability and sustainable development across Rivers State.
Describing the report as misleading and malicious, Ihunwo faulted the online platform that circulated the story, accusing it of engaging in irresponsible journalism aimed at creating avoidable political distractions.
He urged residents of the state to ignore the publication and rely solely on information issued through his verified and official communication channels.
Ihunwo also issued a caution to those behind the report, warning against further dissemination of false information about his political stance, and added that he would not hesitate to explore all lawful options available to safeguard his reputation and personal integrity.
