Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday 2 December 2026 swore in five new Special Advisers at the Government House, reaffirming his administration’s determination to push forward decisively and reclaim lost momentum in delivering good governance to the people.
Speaking during the ceremony at the Executive Council Chambers, Governor Fubara described the appointments as strategic moves to bolster his team and ensure efficient service delivery.
He emphasised that the appointees, with their wealth of experience in previous roles, are well-versed in the administration’s philosophy and objectives.
“For finding your name in the list in the midst of millions is a rare opportunity, don’t let us down. Our agreement with Rivers People is to work and that work is what we have to do and I wish you well.”
Fubara charged the new advisers to view their positions not as privileges but as solemn calls to dedicated public service, urging them to replicate their past distinguished records.

He expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully while warning against any lapse that could disappoint the government and Rivers people.
The governor stressed his administration’s resilience and commitment to fulfilling its social contract with citizens, vowing to overcome challenges and recover any ground lost to distractions.
Those sworn in include Barrister Eloka Tasie-Amadi (former Commissioner for Works), Professor Peter Medee (former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning), Barrister Emmanuel Frank Fubara (former Commissioner for Finance), Victor Ekaro (former Special Adviser on Security to ex-Governor Nyesom Wike), and Dr. Darlington Oji (former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area).
The appointments come amid ongoing efforts to stabilise and strengthen governance in the state.
