Kpansia Community Holds 10th Thanksgiving Service, Prays for Sustained Peace & Prosperity

Residents of Kpansia-Epie community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have expressed profound gratitude to God for ushering in peace and stability as the year 2025 draws to a close.

The community, led by its Paramount Ruler and Obeneken, Chief Wilfred Preye, converged at the Kpansia Town Hall for the 10th annual Thanksgiving service, where prayers were offered for continued progress, prosperity and unity in the area.

The well-attended event drew eminent chiefs from the Epie Kingdom, representatives from neighbouring communities, women, youths, elders, opinion leaders, clergy and other prominent personalities.

A live band, rendering praises in the native Epie dialect, energised the atmosphere as natives turned out en masse for the celebration of praise and worship.

Delivering the sermon on the theme, ‘Thanksgiving, Pathway to Victory’, District Minister of Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Bayelsa State, Pastor Ibim Alabraba, drew references from 2 Chronicles 20:1-5 and Psalm 16:34 (likely Psalm 34), urging the congregation to cultivate a habit of gratitude to attract more divine blessings.

In his remarks, Chief Wilfred Preye thanked God for the prevailing peace, which he said had returned after a period of instability. He called on community members to embrace forgiveness and reconciliation to sustain the harmony.

The Woman Leader of Kpansia, Chief Adevuya Otobo, highlighted ongoing developments, including the construction of a new health centre by the Yenagoa Local Government Council, as evidence of God’s favour.

Dignitaries, including prominent Epie chiefs, Community Development Committee members, youth and women groups, joined Christian leaders in intercessory prayers for the community, Bayelsa State and the nation at large.

The service underscored the community’s faith and optimism for a brighter future.
