Twitch Reverses Carter Efe’s Ban

Popular Nigerian comedian and streamer Carter Efe is back on Twitch, mere days after a high-profile suspension sent him packing to YouTube.

The platform abruptly reversed its initial four-month ban, restoring his account after a mere 24 hours—a move that coincides with the significant buzz generated by his defiant platform switch.

Efe’s exile was short-lived but impactful. After announcing his move on X (formerly Twitter), his loyal audience swiftly migrated with him, a demonstration of his pull that seemingly caught Twitch’s attention. The growing spotlight on his YouTube, seemed to have prompted the sudden reinstatement.

Carter Efe launched a triumphant return stream, transforming his comeback into a major entertainment event. Capitalizing on the energy of Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 kickoff, he hosted a remote appearance from superstar footballer Victor Boniface in Morocco.

The stream exploded with viral moments, including surprise video calls with Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr., Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremy Frimpong, and the controversial commentator VeryDarkMan.

The entertainment featured a full-length rap performance of Olamide’s ‘Voice of the Streets’ and brutally funny roasts targeting Efe’s own finances. Drawing over 17,000 live viewers at its peak, fans hailed the broadcast as “prime entertainment,” using the moment to playfully clap back at a prior troll tweet from DJ Tunez.
