Rivers NDDC Project Contractors Assures Speedy Completion

Contractors handling two key Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC projects in Rivers State have reaffirmed their commitment towards speedy completion of the projects.

The site supervisor, Mr. Abel Abraham while speaking to Newsmen during a media tour of one of the projects,
two Kilometres double lane Kaa-Ataba Road with two bridges linking kaa Community in Khana Local Government Area, and Ataba in Andoni Local Government Area Rivers State, explained that beam casting has been done up to sixty five percent.

Mr. Abraham was optimistic that first phase of the project covering one point three kilometers including the bridge, would be completed by April next year.

He maintained that work was in progress in every aspect of the construction, saying that the company followed local content provisions with the community providing enabling environment for the project.

In his reaction, the Community liaison Officer of the project, Mr. Godspower Bakpo who admitted that on completion, the project would open up the communities for social and economic activities, pledged the support of the of the people.

Similarly, two other residents, Paul Samuel and Sonya Ekeneron, while appreciating NDDC for coming to their rescue after many years of uncertainty, pledged readiness to provide enabling environment for speedy completion of the project.

At NDDC Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt Town, the Project Coordinator, Mr. Nzuruoke Ajie revealed that about seventy percent of civil works have been done, while electrical and plumbing would follow to pave way for accelerated finishing.

Mr. Ajie noted that original scope of the Hospital was expanded and upgraded as directed by the Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who insisted on State-of-the-Art medical equipment, to match global best practices.
On his part, a potential beneficiary of the facility, pastor Ebenezer Kingdom commended the present management of NDDC for taking the bold step towards completing the specialist Hospital which he described as one of the best within the region.
