Women in Rivers State, under the platform of Rivers Women Unite for SIM, have formally declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, describing the endorsement as a collective decision in the interest of unity, democracy and development.
The declaration was made at a well-attended gathering in Port Harcourt on Friday, December 19, 2025, where the women called on residents of the state to rally behind both leaders to ensure political stability and accelerate socio-economic growth in Rivers State.
Speaking at the event, the Convener of Rivers Women Unite for SIM, Mrs. Amaopurubo Toby-Fulton, said the group’s decision was anchored on its unwavering support for Governor Fubara, noting that Rivers women would align with the governor’s political direction at all times.
According to her, the governor’s open support for President Tinubu equally enjoys the backing of women across the state.
“Wherever Governor Siminalayi Fubara goes, that is where Rivers women will go. As he has taken a stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we also stand with the President.”

She added that Rivers women, whom she described as mothers, daughters, wives and sisters, were united in their resolve to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to defend the mandates of both the President and the Governor.
The event also featured a moment of celebration as Fulton announced a Christmas largesse from the wife of the Rivers State Governor, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and Founder of the Valerie Simple Life Initiative, Lady Valerie Fubara. The gesture was greeted with cheers, prayers and expressions of gratitude.
Organised by the Toby Jug Foundation in collaboration with Rivers Women Unite for SIM, the gathering featured cultural dances, colourful displays and Christmas renditions, marking the close of the group’s activities for the year while reinforcing its political commitment going forward.
