Women across Rivers State, under the auspices of Rivers Women Unite for SIM, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, held a thanksgiving service to celebrate the successful hosting of the 2025 Converge, a landmark gathering that brought together women from across the state for spiritual renewal and unity.
The thanksgiving service took place at Hilltop Church, Woji Road, Port Harcourt, and attracted a large turnout of women who gathered to express gratitude to God for His blessings, protection and preservation throughout the year, as well as for the smooth and successful execution of the Converge programme.
Delivering a message during the service, the Senior Pastor of Hilltop Church, Pastor Emmanuel Oarhe, alongside his wife, Pastor Mrs. Priye Oarhe, encouraged the women to embrace thanksgiving as a daily lifestyle. They noted that gratitude is a powerful spiritual principle that opens new doors, sustains blessings and strengthens faith, urging participants to remain steadfast in prayer and service.
The women expressed deep appreciation for God’s faithfulness, especially for the wisdom, unity and strength granted to them to plan and organise what they described as the largest gathering of women ever held in Rivers State. They also applauded the dedication, unity and sacrificial commitment demonstrated by Rivers women during the planning and execution of the 2025 Converge.
Participants further praised the resilience and commitment of the leadership and members of Rivers Women Unite for SIM across the state’s 23 local government areas, noting that their consistent prayers and teamwork continue to strengthen the group’s vision of building a spiritually grounded, peaceful and prosperous Rivers State.
The thanksgiving service featured women from diverse backgrounds and communities and was marked by a joyful and celebratory atmosphere, with moments of praise, worship and funfair.
