‎NCDMB, Chevron Flag Off Training for Youths in Port Harcourt

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) and Cakasa Nigeria Company Limited, has launched a specialised Human Capacity Development (HCD) programme to equip young Nigerians with technical skills in catalyst processing, loading, and handling.

‎The initiative was unveiled at Cakasa’s Operational Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, under the theme “Human Capacity Development for Sustainable Development.” The programme is designed to provide practical, industry-ready training for selected beneficiaries.

‎Representing the NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Manager of Human Capacity Development, Mrs. Tarilate Teide Bribena, reaffirmed the Board’s stance that capacity development remains central to strengthening local content and boosting national competitiveness. She explained that the Board’s 60:20:20 HCD model continues to convert potential into competence and long-term national value.

‎Bribena revealed that sixteen participants were chosen for the CNL,Cakasa programme, where they will undergo hands-on training in catalyst-related operations. She commended Chevron for its consistent support for Nigerian Content and applauded OGTAN for maintaining professional standards within the training ecosystem.

‎Charging the trainers, she urged them to build not only technical ability but also discipline and strong work ethics. To the trainees, she described the programme as a privilege and a responsibility, encouraging them to uphold excellence and integrity as ambassadors of Nigeria’s local content vision.

‎Cakasa’s Acting Projects Engineer, Engr. Uzoma E. Okorofor, stressed that human capital not infrastructure remains the driver of sustainable national progress. He identified knowledge, competence, and character as the core pillars of lasting capacity.

‎Chevron’s Capacity Building Advisor, Mr. Inyere Victor, praised the transparent selection process and encouraged the trainees to fully embrace the opportunity, reaffirming Chevron’s commitment to investing in Nigeria’s talent pool.

‎Officials from NCDMB and Cakasa attended the ceremony.
