Rivers United Defeats Kano Pillars


It was also a South West Derby as Shooting Stars ‘shot’ Remo Stars today in a rescheduled Matchday 13 clash, a fixture steeped in history, pride, and high-octane football.

‎Shooting Stars have secured another victory to their name hosting Remo Stars with a wave of confidence after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors, with Ayodele Ismail’s composed finish sealing the points. Their previous win highlighted improved tactical structure, better game management, and home dominance, with Adamasingba Stadium poised to become a fortress once more.

‎Today, it has been reported that the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Remo Stars on Wednesday in one of the Nigeria Premier Football League rescheduled fixtures, while Rivers United also claimed a late win over Kano Pillars.

‎After a mixed start of the season, Rivers United have rediscovered attacking flair and tactical cohesion, with the likes of Stephen Chinedu and Stanley Dimgba spearheading their front line. And of course a home advantage has been a key factor in their most commanding performances this season.

‎In a nutshell, the pride of Rivers left it late to defeat Kano Pillars 1–0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. Boluwaji Shomade scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute, giving the Rivers United all three points in dramatic fashion in the clash.

‎Both team victories provide a clear boost for Shooting Stars and Rivers United as they push to climb higher in the NPFL standings.
