Thune’s, MoMo PSB Partner on Instant Global Remittances

Global payments platform Thunes has teamed up with MoMo PSB, the fintech arm of MTN Nigeria, to enable Nigerians to instantly receive international remittances directly into their mobile wallets.

Under the deal, MoMo PSB’s roughly 2.7 million users can now receive funds from major markets including the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Israel and South Africa. Funds arrive instantly and can be used for airtime top-ups, bills, peer-to-peer transfers, or digital commerce.

Thunes’ Direct Global Network supports transfers across more than 130 countries and over 80 currencies. The partnership significantly expands Nigeria’s access to global remittance corridors, strengthening financial inclusion in the country’s growing digital economy.

As global remittance inflows to Nigeria reached $20.9 billion in 2024 growing by 9% this collaboration could increase convenience for diaspora transfers and help channel more funds into the local fintech ecosystem.
