Google Launches Gemini 3, Its Most Advanced AI Yet

Google has officially announced the release of Gemini 3, its most advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to date. The new AI is designed to bring cutting-edge reasoning capabilities and enhanced agentic functionalities to Google products used by millions worldwide every day.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet. He described the launch as a significant milestone in Google’s mission to make AI genuinely helpful and accessible to everyone.

According to Pichai, this new phase will see Google continue to expand the capabilities of intelligent agents while enhancing personalization. “A new era of intelligence commences with the Gemini 3 model itself, which is designed to comprehend depth and nuance like never before,” he said.

Gemini 3 Pro, the first model in this new AI family, demonstrates PhD-level reasoning and sets new records on major AI benchmarks. These benchmarks include complex problem-solving, scoring 91.9% on GPQA Diamond, as well as understanding and interpreting video, images, and even handwritten text.

Pichai emphasized that these improvements go beyond raw performance metrics. Gemini 3 Pro introduces a new quality to interactions, offering smart, direct, and contextually aware responses while avoiding generic or repetitive outputs.

The AI is intended to act as a true thought partner, providing authentic insights and assisting users in creative, academic, and professional tasks.

The CEO also highlighted Gemini 3’s “vibe coding” capabilities, allowing developers to translate ideas into functional outcomes using natural language. This powerful agentic functionality is expected to enable new experiences across Google services and foster innovation for developers and end-users alike.

Citing growing demand for learning and productivity tools, Pichai noted that in Nigeria, Google Search interest in “AI and studying” has surged by over 200%, with inquiries about “how to learn AI” rising 160% over the past year. This reflects a global appetite for AI systems that can support personal development and decision-making in meaningful ways.
