AFRIMA Launches Search for Emerging Musical Talent

The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has officially commenced the entry process for its 9th Edition Diamond Showcase, a prestigious initiative established to highlight the continent’s most gifted up-and-coming music artists.

In a recent official communication, the organization declared that the application portal for the Diamond Showcase is now active, calling on vocalists, MCs, disc jockeys, beat-makers, and musicians from all over Africa to put forward their submissions.

This project is structured to provide a unique chance for hidden talents to display their abilities to an international viewership and make a crucial leap toward widespread acclaim in the music industry.

Janatte Haddadi, AFRIMA’s Regional Manager for Northern Africa, characterized the platform as a transformative prospect for young creatives prepared to advance their professional journeys.

She expressed that countless skilled African artists, despite possessing remarkable ability, frequently go unnoticed within their own localities. The Diamond Showcase, she explained, is intended to close this divide by offering exposure, guided development, and connections to the music business.

Haddadi shared that the submission window is set from November 18 to December 8, 2025, and encouraged aspiring candidates to complete their applications promptly through the official website at afrima.org/Diamond-Showcase or via AFRIMA’s Instagram page.

Those wishing to participate must submit a 45-second video of a live performance. Following this, the official AFRIMA selection committee will choose the 15 most outstanding candidates, who will be designated as “The Diamonds.”

This elite group will receive an invitation to Lagos for a live performance event planned for January 6–7, 2026. The showcases will be held nightly from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

The chosen finalists will be granted a fully sponsored journey to Lagos, which includes special AFRIMA-branded goods, coaching from industry experts, and the chance to play live for an audience of top-tier music company representatives, press outlets, and other powerful figures in the field.

“We want to find the brightest diamonds in the rough across Africa,” Haddadi said. “If you believe in your gift, this is the time to act. Don’t wait. Don’t hold back. Submit your entry. Africa is ready to meet its next big talents.”

The Diamond Showcase is a key component of the lead-up to the 9th AFRIMA Awards, scheduled to take place in Lagos from January 7 to 11, 2026. The festivities, coordinated alongside the African Union and the Lagos State Government, will include the Africa Music Business Summit, a Music Village Concert, a Nominees Party, a Red Carpet event, and the culminating Awards Night.

The grand ceremony will be transmitted to a global audience in over 84 countries.
